"Daddy Booger!"

Amalia has a runny nose. After a summer of relative good health, last week she brought home a runny nose and new expression:

"Daddy booger!"

Translation: "Father, please wipe my nose, as the snot is strarting to dribble over my upper lip, into my mouth, and I find this quite unacceptable!"

In our town we have a place called the Community School of Music and Arts. This is a place where they have music and art classes for the community as well as gallery showings and recitals. It's pretty nice having it so close to us (2 blocks away!). It turns out that they have a 'family' program on Sunday afternoons for folks to bring the kiddies and expose them to all kinds of different music. Yesterday we walked over and watch the Baguette Quartette which was violin, bass, accordion and guitar ensemble playing French tune from the 1920s. Not my all time favorite genre, but entertaining enough to keep Amalia occupied for about 20-30 minutes... she clapped after each tune and at one point actually wiggled her way off my lap, then 'pulled' me out of my seat so that we could go dance together in the back of the hall.

When the song was over she headed for the door we came in... apparently it was time to go home. But this was a bigger day for Amalia's recovering rockstar parents as it was her first live music 'concert'... and our assessment is that she liked it quite a lot. So here is a little souvenir for the baby book... first concert ticket:

Next month the family show will be "The Avenue Winds: Baroque, Classical & More". Sounds like just the thing for a 2 year old.

"Daddy booger" would sound better if you added a comma between daddy and booger. Obviously someone has an older brother in the crowd Amalia is now running with at school. But, now cute and I love your intrepretation of the word, the next word to be added to the dictionary. I'm glad you are keeping a record of these words so sweetly said; as the years pass, unfortuately we forget them. Love, mom, barbara
